Dr. Brytani B. Laird, D.C. with Magnolia Family Chiropractic (MFC) treats the entire family. Her specialties are pediatrics and pregnancy chiropractic care.

Aside from the obvious internal growth of a baby, pregnancy may be bring on new physical issues for women. Laird lists out the following issues chiropractic care can help with during pregnancy: carpal tunnel, constipation, headaches, heartburn / indigestion, leg cramps, low back pain, mid back pain, pubic pain, round ligament pain, sciatica and tight shoulders.

Laird says some of the benefits of chiropractic care during pregnancy may be a decrease in pain, reduced heartburn / indigestion / nausea, improved nerve signal to the uterus and baby, balances the pelvis / sacrum / uterus, optimal baby positioning, reduction of labor time and pain and supportive kinesiotaping.

Kinesiotaping is a treatment that uses a method of using tape to lift the skin away from the underlying muscles and nerve endings to provide relief from pain. This unique lifting action also improves blood flow to muscles, which can help delay fatigue. It is used for to help pregnancy pain, lower back pain, knee pain, scoliosis, posture issues, inflammation and neck pain.

In Laird’s chiropractic practice, she uses the Webster Technique in pregnancy care. This technique is an adjustment to help reduce the effects of pelvic imbalance.
