For some traditional southern food, go to Tim’s Kitchen in Broussard, Louisiana. The menu of Tim’s Kitchen consists of a variety of flavorful traditional southern Creole food to suit the palate.
Daily from Monday through Friday, there are different menu choices along with their regular Mondays through Fridays plate lunches such as chicken fried steak, baked chicken, and chicken and sausage gumbo. Sundays have BBQ choices of brisket, pork steak, sausage, ribs, and chicken.
For those interested in partaking in dessert, at least one type of cake is available daily.
Catering services are available for parties, weddings, showers, or any event.
Father and son Tim Sharlow Sr. and Tim Sharlow Jr. are the restaurant owners. Restaurant staff includes Sharlow Sr., his wife, Liz Sharlow, and four other employees. Sharlow Jr. gives his parents a break on Sundays and takes care of promoting the restaurant on social media. Sharlow Jr. said he stops at the restaurant at least once weekly “to taste the food”.
Sharlow Jr. said his mother plays a prominent role in the restaurant. She is the commander-in-chief, a bean counter with personality, and head baker.
Before opening Tim’s Kitchen on October 17, 2018, the family had Ruby’s Restaurant in Lafayette, Louisiana, from 1991-2013. Ruby is the family matriarch and mother of Sharlow Sr.
Hours of operation are Sunday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The restaurant is closed on Saturdays.
