Grinding through the discomfort requires belief in your abilities. It’s daily telling yourself that you’re going to make it, that you have what it takes, and that your ideas are worthy of pursuit. Though it may seem crazy, you’re on the right track.
It’s then you’ll find things you didn’t know you had in yourself. You’ll recognize that you have more fight left than you thought. When it looks like you’re failing, you’ll realize that winning is right on the other side. Just a few steps away.
It’s not easy, I can tell you. I recently took on more projects as a group than we normally do. It’s got me uncomfortable. I’m using my discomfort as fuel to keep going. To keep pursuing the things I know we are capable of. Creating opportunities for others that I know will be life-changing. Giving to organizations that will impact a community. These things drive me to push myself past my perceived limits. Where I want to go there is no comfort. There is no relief in sight. Just getting better, a few steps at a time, and not quitting.
Here’s to discomfort and uneasiness. Here’s to being among the few who have the courage to chase it. Here’s to becoming more than we think we can become. On the other side of this will be a life worth fighting for. How far can we go…. Let’s find out.
