Bon Temp Santa, also known as Jake Borill, said he and Mrs. Clause, aka Brittany Borill, loves spreading Christmas cheer to everyone.
Borill said “the most magical moments as a child was when I believed in Santa”. Those memories are why the two Borills love working to bring magic moments to everyone else. With this time of year being about giving and having a good time with your family and friends it make it the most favorite time of year for Borill.
“Being Santa allows me to keep that magic of Christmas alive for not only others but also myself”, said Borill. He also said being Santa means you never really stopped believing.
In 2011 while at a University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL) New Orleans bowl game, the Borills went dressed up as Cajun Santa and Mrs. Clause. There was a line of kids at the concession stand waiting to talk to Santa to tell him what they wanted. That’s when something struck Borill that e loved bringing that cheer to others. What began with spreading holiday cheer to those at the bowl game has now lead Borill to spreading holiday cheer to the City of Youngsville and all of Acadiana.
The Borills started the lighting of the roundabouts along with the rides through the neighborhoods that were partnered with the City of Youngsville last year. This year Youngsville Rotary and The Youngsville Fire department have partnered with Bon Temps Santa as well. Borill says, “It’s a real honor to have them involved”.
Bon Temps Santa goes out and about in the community to spread their cheer. They are also available for hire for parties.
