The Acadiana Young Republicans is an organization that facilitates opportunities for young republicans in the Acadiana region to participate in discussion and debate of key issues.
The AYR facilitates opportunities for networking, exchange of ideas, and creating lasting personal and professional relationships as well as encourages its members to be involved in affecting policy. Additionally, The AYR works to foster a sense of community among young republicans in the Acadiana region, as well as to promote the Republican Party and its principles.
According to Landon Boudreaux, in the fall of 2022, Javin Fulson reached out to both him and Juan Howard wanting to get AYR going in the Acadian Region. The AYR was established as a non-profit organization on October 13, 2022. In January 2023 their first monthly meeting was held.
Political guest speakers are hosted at AYR’s monthly meetings. These speakers provide information on current political issues that can help AYR’s members become better informed. The topics of the guest speakers vary; they may discuss the current political climate, local elections, and legislation that affects young people.
The members of The AYR range from college students to established professionals to political veterans.
The AYR is open who identify as Republican or conservative. The organization meets monthly to provide members with updates on current events and to discuss relevant issues. In addition to the monthly meetings, members are encouraged to participate in volunteer activities, attend political events, and become actively involved in the Republican Party.
Meetings are held at different locations each month.
