Americans for Prosperity-Louisiana Announces Four New Endorsements Ahead of General Election
Baton Rouge, LA — Today, Americans for Prosperity-Louisiana (AFP-LA) announced its support of four additional candidates to serve various parts of the Pelican State, rounding out a total of 21 endorsements this election season. The announcement comes on the heels of the organization’s backing of 17 candidates in the primary, 15 of which found success on election night.
With a priority to advance policies that put Louisiana families, schools, and businesses first, AFP-LA is confident that these are the right leaders to get the job done. The major grassroots mobilizer reached more than 130,000 voters in a two-and-a-half-month span, and plans on connecting with even more voters ahead of the November 18, 2023, election.
AFP-LA State Director Scott Simon issued the following statement:
“Our team is committed to bringing transformative change to Louisiana by electing strong leaders who will lower taxes, fight rising insurance costs, expand options in education, and bring in regulatory reform.
“As we gain momentum towards election day, AFP-LA endorses these candidates who will further bring the leadership skills that will drive reforms necessary to move this great state forward.”
AFP-LA Endorsed Candidates:
HD 53 Chairwoman Jessica Domangue
As Terrebonne Parish Councilwoman and current Parish Council Chairwoman, Jessica is a proven leader who will bring her skills to better serve citizens of Louisiana. As a mom Jessica knows that empowering parents with options in education that work best for a child’s individual needs are a key issue.
HD 65 Brandon Ivey
Fighting to let Louisianans keep more money in their wallets, Brandon will work to cut taxes and reform our current tax code. He is leading in his runoff and has the drive to enact change in education options, access to healthcare, and removing burdensome regulations if voted into office.
HD 68 Dixon McMakin
Dedicated to driving Louisiana’s economy forward, Dixon will leverage his background in finance to reduce state debt and cut taxes as well as government red tape. Dixon also possesses a principled approach to reforming education.
HD 74 Peter Egan, Sr.
Peter knows what it takes to own a small business in Louisiana and has demonstrated strong leadership while serving on the Causeway Commission, the St. Tammany Economic Development Commission, and the Republican Party Executive Committee. Notably, Peter will be a policy champion for creating competition in the healthcare industry and expanding personal options.
