The Broussard City Council met Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
Karen Lagrange Cox addressed the mayor and the council to advise of BY Local News LLC, an online newspaper for Broussard and Youngsville.
Brian Boudreaux, Travis Laurent and Cliff Guidry address the council requesting a variance for a rear set back for the Villas at Jefferson townhouse project. The variance request was discussed and the council decided to table it under further information could be provided.
Authorization for the cancellation of the November 8, 2022 City Council Meeting was passed unanimously by council members. The cancellation is due to November 8 2022 being election day.
Resolution #728-22
A resolution authorizing a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with Lafayette Parish for Firefighting servers. This is an annual renewal. These funds allows the Broussard Fire Department to provide its services to those outside of Broussard in the incorporated areas of Lafayette Parish.
This was approved unanimously by the attending council members.
Ordonnance for Adoption: Ordinance #22-743
An ordinance amending the 2022/2023 Operating Budget for FY2022/2023 for Capital Outlay in the amount of $250,000 for an additional turn lane on St. Nazaiare Road.
This was approved unanimously by the attending council members.
Introduction: Ordinance #22-744
An ordinance amending the 2022-/2023 Operating Budget for FY2022/2023 for Capital Outlay in the amount of $96,500 for Tennis Court Improvements at St. Julien Sports Complex.
This was approved unanimously by the attending council members
