LHSC / NHTSA Special Wave : Buckle Up In Your Truck
Lafayette- The Lafayette Police Department is proud to partner with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, along with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in a ‘Special Wave’ enforcement endeavor targeting drivers and occupants not wearing safety belts while traveling on the roadway. This ‘Special Wave’ is called “Buckle Up In Your Truck” and begins tomorrow, Saturday April 22, 2022, and will conclude on Saturday April 29, 2023. As stated in the title of this Special Wave, the emphasis and attention will be predominantly on trucks, however any seatbelt violations observed will be addressed. During this initiative, Lafayette Police will be conducting high visibility patrols within the incorporated limits of Lafayette, and will respond with zero tolerance to those drivers and passengers found to not be wearing safety belts while the vehicle is in operation on a roadway. The Lafayette Police Department thanks the public for their cooperation in this most important safety endeavor.
