With the retirement of Conrad Comeaux, the Lafayette Parish Republican Executive Committee unanimously endorsed Walter Campbell for Tax Assessor at their monthly meeting held yesterday, June 5, 2023.
As a REALTOR for nearly 25 years, Campbell has developed extraordinary skills in leadership, sales, marketing, technology, communication, and a desire to help others achieve their aspirations. Additionally, Walter Campbell is a husband of 30 years and the proud father of two successful children—both of whom attended and graduated college. When not busy running his successful real estate business, Walter enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and experiencing the Sportsman’s Paradise that is our great state through fishing and hunting.
After completing his service in the United States Air Force (1986-1992), Walter graduated from USL in 1992 and planted roots in Lafayette, LA. Walter has served in various non-profit organizations, including Lafayette Habitat for Humanity, Kiwanis of Acadiana, Boy Scouts of America, and most recently, was asked to serve on the Salvation Army Board of Directors. In addition to his work in the charity space, he has been active in leadership on the local and State REALTOR® Boards.
Campbell is running for Assessor of Lafayette Parish to bring transparency and fairness. Additionally, Campbell will incorporate cutting-edge technology to facilitate easier public access to filings and records within the Assessor’s office.
Walter Campbell, a pro-life Christian, lifelong Republican, and business leader, said, “I am excited to be endorsed as the conservative, Republican candidate for tax assessor. As a lifelong Republican, I intend to bring fair and accurate assessments to the Assessor’s office. I will use my years of executive experience to enhance public services while reducing costs and improving transparency.”
