Referring to the recent rains, Youngsville Mayor Ken Ritter states, “four plus inches of rain in a few hours used to be stressful.” The Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) detention ponds under construction in Youngsville helped prevent flooding during the heavy rains received in the last few days.
These four are on Bayou Parc Perdu along Detente Road, ending south of the Youngsville Sports Complex. These are still in progress however, the degrassed area shows what still needs to be excavated (mostly ponds two and three in the middle of the video).
