FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Heather Girouard combines tradition with the future in her bid for Broussard City Council District 4

Girouard wants to bring development to Broussard while keeping the small-town atmosphere

BROUSSARD, LA – August 17, 2022 – Heather Girouard has announced her candidacy for the Broussard City Council District 4 seat. In her announcement, she stated that her top priorities are infrastructure improvements, economic development, and bringing new businesses to the city.

Girouard is a graduate of St. Cecilia Catholic School and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. She has worked in the restaurant industry since she was 16 years old and is currently the food and beverage director and events coordinator for Oakbourne Country Club. In this role, she oversees several departments and 40 employees. Girouard knows what it’s like to be part of a team and can lead when it’s time to lead.

Keeping the small-town feel of Broussard while embracing new development and growth is at the heart of Girouard’s plans for the city. She would like to see more revenue come into the city by building up undeveloped land on Ambassador Caffery and investing returns back into her district and the city.

Girouard wants to focus on keeping traditions alive while embracing new technologies and opportunities.  She was born and raised in Broussard and is the third generation of her family to live in the area. Her son is the fourth generation. She feels that this mix of old and new will make Broussard an even better place to live and work in the future.

“Being a lifelong resident, I love everything about our community. Everyone feels like family if they actually aren’t already. We help each other in times of need without hesitation, and I am proud to be part of a city with such a strong sense of community and values, Girouard said. “Hard work and life training have always pushed me towards progress and constantly strive for more. I enjoy challenges and working with a team to navigate the ways of solving issues.”

Broussard residents have an opportunity to elect a leader who understands the importance of both tradition and progress – vote for Heather Girouard in November!
