FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LAFAYETTE, LA – On January 19, 2023, Josh Carlson, Lafayette Parish Councilman, announces his candidacy for State Representative, District 43.
Josh has been serving on the Lafayette Parish Council for the last 3 years, and is currently the Parish Council Chair. He has been a strong advocate for fiscal responsibility and a conservative Republican who focuses on the core functions of local government such as infrastructure, drainage, and public safety. Additionally, Josh has served the parish by building strong relationships with leaders in Lafayette, Broussard, and Youngsville in order to resolve many of the shared challenges within the district.
This year, State Representative Stuart Bishop, will be term-limited, leaving an open seat for District 43. Josh plans to offer creative solutions to prioritize education, create better business opportunities, cultivate an environment that welcomes young families, and ensure that our laws promote prosperity in every industry, especially the oil and gas industry. He will take the experience and leadership from the Parish Council to the capital to continue advocating for the needs of the district and state in order to build a Louisiana that our kids and grandkids are proud to call home.
