David Forbes will be sworn in with other city council members and the mayor, as the new Broussard City Council Member for District 5 on January 3, 2023.
Goals for Forbes as council member is to work with the City Council and in having input regarding Broussard’s infrastructure. He is interested in not only water quality but for the city to have the resources to provide enough water for the growing number of businesses that are currently located and for those still to locate in Broussard.
Forbes expressed he would like to see recreational ball, such as baseball and soccer, grow in participation at St. Julien Park.
Forbes noted some of his reasons for running for District 5 are to work to take care of the concerns of his constituents, to stay connected and giving back to his community.
Prior to his candidacy for District 5, Forbes served on the Broussard Planning and Zoning Committee. He resigned from it one month prior to the November 8, 2022 election.
Employed by BICO Drilling Tools for the last seventeen years, Forbes said he worked his way from building tools to his current position as their Gulf Coast District Manager.
A lifelong resident of Broussard, Forbes’ hobbies include golf, cooking and hanging out with his family. He is married with three daughters.
