Lafayette, LA – Residents interested in learning how to better manage their finances and improve financial wealth are invited to join a no-cost workshop presented by Chase Bank Community Manager Kirk Taylor.
Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Community Development & Planning Department’s financial literacy outreach is ideal for recent graduates, college students, people whose families didn’t discuss finances, those recovering from bankruptcy, and anyone who wants a better understanding of financial management.
The course will cover, among other topics, short- and long-term goal setting, tracking your finances, creating a budget with income and savings, expenses, debt management, setting up an emergency fund, understanding and maintaining credit, and knowing your rights and consumer protections under federal law.
The workshop will be held on Tuesday, August 15 from 9 a.m.-noon at The Taylor Center at 111 Shirley Picard Drive, located directly behind the fire station on Mudd Avenue.
