BROUSSARD MAYOR RAY BOURQUE KICKS OFF RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN

BROUSSARD, LA – Broussard Mayor Ray Bourque officially launched his campaign for re-election this evening, surrounded by family, friends and supporters in the heart of the growing city. The small businessman and civic leader spoke of the historic success the community has experienced under his administration, and urged those gathered to “keep the engine running” by electing him to a second term in office in the election to be held Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

“Broussard is truly a city on the move, but at the heart of our journey is a well-oiled engine powering us forward with steady, deliberate strength,” said Bourque. “We have much to celebrate together; from economic development wins to infrastructure keeping up with growth and maintaining the seventh safest city in Louisiana – all while staying true to our roots and our values. We’re growing and welcoming new neighbors and opportunity every day, and our team works tirelessly to ensure that growth is smart, well-guided and properly serves our home-grown businesses and families. This has and will continue to be the place we love, the place we choose to live, work and raise our children. We have a wonderful story to tell, and I ask you to join me in writing our next chapter.”

A lifelong resident of Broussard, Bourque served two terms on the Broussard City Council before being elected mayor in 2018. Those dozen years in public service are sharpened by his skills as a small business owner, with an attitude of excellence in customer service, fiscal responsibility and accountability. He says this gift of experience in public service is something he never takes for granted.

“You have given me the gift of time to be truly ready for what Broussard needs from me and my team. The past four years have been a challenge for all of us,” Bourque said, “from natural disasters to a pandemic, we’ve faced them together and come out stronger on the other side. And here we are. This is our time; tomorrow is not promised. Please join me in continuing our hard work by honoring me with your vote on November 8th.”

Bourque and his wife Mitzi raised two children in Broussard, who attended St. Cecilia Catholic School just like he did. They are parishioners of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
