Rep. Goudeau Will Seek Re-Election

Representative Goudeau Will Seek Re-Election to the Louisiana Legislature District 31

Representative Jonathan Goudeau, I, Will Seek Re-Election to the House of Representatives this October 10

May 2023 (LAFAYETTE, Louisiana) – District 31 State Representative Jonathan Goudeau, I, is excited to announce he will seek re-election to the Louisiana Legislature in the October 14th Louisiana Gubernatorial Primary Election.

Goudeau, a Conservative Republican, is a lifelong resident of Lafayette, representing parts of Lafayette and Vermilion Parishes. As a father of three and grandfather of four, he knows our children are our future and has received a 100% Approval Rating from the Louisiana Right to Life Federation for his pro-life stance.

He spent 19 years with Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Department, where he learned first-hand the importance our law enforcement plays in our everyday lives. His experience with the Sheriff’s Department gives him the necessary background to have been appointed to the House Select Committee on Homeland Security by Speaker Schexnayder and the knowledge needed to serve as a Member of the Administration of Criminal Justice Committee.

While working as a Sheriff’s Deputy, Goudeau began his own business, Indoor Recreation Com-pany. As his company began to flourish, Goudeau transitioned to a full-time small business owner and recently celebrated his 32nd year in business. Being a business owner, Representative Goudeau understands the importance of Louisiana becoming more business-friendly; and as a Member of the House Commerce Committee, his diverse work experience allows him the ability to cross partisan lines in the legislature to move District 31 and Louisiana forward.

“When I ran in 2019, I committed to working diligently to bring growth through economic development, and I pledged to fully support law enforcement, public safety, and our educational system,” Goudeau said. “I am proud to say that I’ve done just that.

”During his time in the Legislature, Goudeau has proven to be an effective Representative for District 31, receiving a 100% Approval Rating from the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI) and the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) and from the National Rifle Association (NRA) for defending the Second Amendment.

Goudeau was named Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) “Legislator of the Year” and has worked to secure funding for various projects, including the construction of Maurice City Hall and the Milton Water Project, totaling over $18.4 Million directly into District 31. He has also introduced legislation to combat the possession of firearms by criminals and reduce the theft of catalytic converters, as well as co-sponsor legislation to combat the fentanyl crisis and the opioid epidemic.

Voters in parts of Lafayette and Vermilion Parish will have the opportunity to cast their ballots for State Representative during the week of early voting, from September 30 through October 7, excluding Sunday, October 1, from 8:30 AM until 6:00 PM, and again on Election Day, Saturday, Oc-tober 14 from 7 AM until 8 PM.
