Service Awards Given

At the December 13, 2022 Broussard City Council meeting, Mayor Ray Bourque presented exiting council members with service awards and thanked the members for their service to Broussard.

Michael Rabon served as a Council Member for District 4 from 2019 to 2022. From Bourque regarding Rabon, “Many accomplishments in District 4 including a sewer rehab project, improvements on blighted and abandoned properties and improvements in Ida Crochet Park including a new playground, baseball field and several new pavilions.”

Kenny Higginbotham served as a Council Member for District 5 from 2003 to 2022. Bourque spoke of Higginbotham, “Kenny has proven to be a consistent advocate and supporter of Broussard’s Police and Fire departments and a champion of all things recreation and especially St. Julien Park.”

Ray Gary served as a Council Member of District 6 from 2011 to 2022. Bourque said of Gary, “A true servant of the people, a consistent example of humility, wisdom and selflessness. A true supporter of the downtown redevelopment initiative and protecting Broussard’s history and culture.”
