Swift in the Race for Mayor-President

Jan Swift Qualifies for Lafayette Parish Mayor-President Race

Tuesday, August 8, 2023 – Republican Jan Swift, local attorney, and podcast host, qualified for the Lafayette Parish Mayor-President race today.  The election is on October 14, 2023.

Jan stated, “I am running for mayor president because our community deserves better than what the current administration provides.  Lafayette residents have been clear:  our mayor president is corrupt and corruption is the major issue of this election.  Corruption along with poor leadership have cost us millions of dollars and depleted the morale of our city and parish workers.  As a taxpayer and voter, this is unacceptable.”  Jan also shared, “I have the qualifications, the experience, and the love for Lafayette to lead our community in an honest and ethical manner.”

Jan is a forty-two year Republican, who announced her candidacy in December 2022.  “For eight months, I have met with residents and listened to their concerns and issues.  As your mayor president, I will continue to encourage two-way communication that promotes solutions rather than division.”
