Youngsville Chief Boudreaux Sues City Council

On March 30, 2023, at a Youngsville Special City Council meeting, the council voted to call for an investigation of Youngsville Police Chief Rickey Boudreaux. The investigation is to go back to the date Boudreaux took the office of police chief.

During the special council meeting on March 30, 2023, Resolution No. 2023-08 was approved by the Youngsville City Council, which authorized and directed the Mayor to secure an independent investigation of the Youngsville Chief of Police.

In an article in the Acadiana Advocate today, “Youngsville Police Chief Rickey Boudreaux filed a lawsuit today in the 15th Judicial District Court against the City Council over its plans to investigate him”.

The requested investigation results from whether Boudreaux gave special favors to then Kayla Menard-Reaux after she hit a parked car on November 12, 2022. Reaux was reported to have called Boudreaux after the vehicle accident, while the owner of the hit car called 911. Boudreaux met Reaux at the accident scene, and two officers responded to the 911 call and went to the scene. Reaux is reported to have not received a sobriety test or a citation for the accident.
