    May 12, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced today that Victoria Sears, a tenth grader at Southside High School in Youngsville, is the winner of the 2023 Congressional Art Competition for Louisiana’s 3rd District.

Victoria’s piece, titled “Kaleidoscope of Trees,” is an impressionistic painting showcasing bald cypress trees positioned to face light. Color is used to display the different interpretations of light and to add beauty to the scene. The combination of trees, water, and sunlight portrays a color-filled “kaleidoscope.”

“Victoria’s artwork is a testament to her skill and creativity,” said Congressman Higgins. “We’re honored to have her art representing the beauty of Louisiana’s 3rd District in the halls of Congress.”
