BY Local News (BYLN) spent a few hours at the Louisiana State Capitol today. Below are photos of people BYLN met at the capitol, photos inside the capitol building, and photos from the top of the capitol building.
BYLN went around the capitol building visiting the rotunda, Senate and House Floor Rooms, committee rooms, the observation deck on the seventy-seventh floor, and the location where Huey P. Long was shot (in 1935) and later died, and the grounds of the capitol building.
The people below are State Representative Josh Carlson of District 43, Krystal Romero, Kelli Bottger with Louisiana Kids Matter, and Simone Champagne with the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE). Bottger and Champagne went before the Appropriations Committee regarding the Minimum Foundation Program (MFP).
People met but not pictured were Mike Francis, Public Service Commissioner; former Opelousas Mayor Mike Thibodeaux; and Kristie Curtis, Louisiana Council Advocacy Network (LaCAN) Leader for Region 4 (developmental disabilities advocacy network).
