The Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency (LOPA) hosted its 3rd Annual Path of Remembrance with a butterfly release at St. Julien Park in Broussard today.
The annual event brings together families of Acadiana donor heroes and transplant recipients to honor the lifesaving gifts of donation.
Path of Remembrance allows families to gather and honor their loved ones who have given the gift of life through organ, tissue, and eye donation.
Families released butterflies to remember and celebrate the lives of their loved ones who helped save lives through their selfless and miraculous organ and tissue donation gifts.
LOPA hosts this commemorative ceremony in hopes it will comfort donor families as a reminder that their loved ones and their legacy will never be forgotten.
