Major Traffic Crash 2100 block of North West Evangeline Thruway

Lafayette, LA – All lanes of travel are now reopened, and traffic is allowed to flow as normal. The pedestrian remains responsive and has been transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Lafayette, LA – On 06/22/2023 at 10:45 a.m., The Lafayette Police Department responded to the 2100 block of North West Evangeline Thruway in reference to a major traffic crash. It was then determined that a vehicle traveling on the roadway collided with a pedestrian in the roadway. Traffic Investigators were called and are currently on the scene handling the incident. The pedestrian is alert and being transported at this time via Acadian Ambulance due to moderate injuries.
The inner two lanes of the 2100 block of NW Evangeline Thruway, are blocked off at this time. The outer lane of travel is open at this moment. Motorists should use caution if traveling via this area and/or select an alternate travel route.
