Currently, crews are working on guardrail aprons and installing guardrails on the westbound outside lane from Exit 92 (Mire/Duson) to Exit 80 (Eunice/Crowley). Once guardrail work is complete for the westbound section, the contractor will transition to the eastbound section of I-10 to perform guardrail work.
Upcoming Construction: Later in the project, open-graded friction course (OGFC) will be placed as a final course through the entire project. OGFC is a surface course consisting of a mix of an asphalt binder and open-graded aggregate. The application of OGFC will aid in enhancing safety, especially during wet weather conditions.
