A once vacant trailer lot next to Foster Memorial Park is now home to one of Youngsville’s most thoughtfully designed accommodations — Parkside Cottages, a boutique cottage court that officially opened on May 29, 2025.
Parkside Cottages held its official Ribbon Cutting Cermory on Thursday, May 29, 2025, marking an exciting milestone for lodging in Youngsville. The event was hosted in partnership with the Youngsville Chamber of Commerece and attended by Mayor Ritter, Councilman Nick Niland, Chamber
The project is the vision of Matt Galous, a former Ragin’ Cajuns baseball player turned real estate developer, who brings both local roots and a deep passion for community design to this one-of-a-kind space.
“Parkside has been a vision of mine for nearly a decade,” Galous shared. “Having worked on larger townhome communities across the region, I wanted to create something smaller-scale and more intentional — a place that focuses on walkability, hospitality, and a real sense of community.”
Located steps from Foster Park and the Youngsville Sports Complex, Parkside is designed around a shared courtyard that reflects Southern charm and boutique hospitality. Each cottage is uniquely styled to offer comfort and connection — not just to the surrounding nature, but to one another and the broader Youngsville community.
More Than a Place to Stay
From families in town for tournaments to couples on a weekend retreat or traveling professionals seeking a home-away-from-home, Parkside Cottages fills a unique niche in Youngsville’s hospitality landscape.
A Transformational Investment
Originally purchased in 2023 for just $70,000, the once-abandoned half-acre site has been revitalized into a $1.7 million boutique development, reflecting a deep commitment to both design and community impact. The shared courtyard includes:
- A private putting green for friendly competition or unwinding between games.
- A spacious deck with lounge seating for relaxing outdoors.
- A BBQ grill area for cookouts with family, friends, or teammates.
- Lush landscaping and communal gathering spaces that foster comfort and connection.
