Cassidy Announces $4.4 Million for LA from his Infrastructure Law

WASHINGTON (Nov. 30, 2023) – United States Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana will receive $4,400,000.00 from the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) through his Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) for public and transportation infrastructure and flood control needs. 

“By improving the infrastructure across Louisiana, we are building an economy for 2050,” said Dr. Cassidy. “The Infrastructure Law ensures that our communities get the funds needed to make these improvements, and because I had a seat at the table, our communities are receiving more than their fair share of this funding.”

$206,000Chalmette Terminal Main Lift Station RehabilitationThis grant will provide federal funding for the rehabilitation of the main lift station with a new sewerage treatment plant.
$509,000Urania Sewer System ImprovementsThis grant will provide federal funding to renovate the city’s wastewater treatment plant due to a premature infrastructure failure.
$1,000,000Columbia Port Rail Spur ConstructionThis grant will provide federal funding to construct a rail spur that will provide a rail service at the Port of Columbia.
$1,200,000Central Louisiana Regional Port – Critical Industry-Infrastructure ExpansionThis grant will provide federal funding to expand infrastructure and hardstand-supporting industry expansions, including a packaged electrical substation.
$752,000Hodge South First Street Improvements  This grant will provide federal funding to extend and overlay First Street.
$2,400,000Fontana Road Improvements  This grant will provide federal funding to widen and upgrade 0.98 miles of two-lane roadway in Monroe, Louisiana.
$2,000,000Design & Construct MRO Expansion HangarThis grant will provide federal funding for the design and construction of a 200,000-square-foot hangar and infrastructure that will be used for aircraft rehabilitation and converting passenger aircraft to cargo aircraft in New Iberia, Louisiana.
