Lafayette, LA (February 6, 2026) — The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO) has signed a contract allowing Faith House of Acadiana to occupy and operate out of a downtown Lafayette office space owned by the Sheriff’s Office, formalizing a partnership aimed at strengthening public safety and expanding critical services for survivors of domestic violence.
By providing a secure and accessible location for Faith House staff and administrators, the endeavor improves coordination between law enforcement and service providers, helping survivors access shelter, advocacy and support more quickly and safely. The collaboration also supports LPSO’s mission to reduce repeat incidents of violence by connecting survivors with resources that promote long-term safety and stability.
“Faith House exemplifies a comprehensive approach to addressing domestic violence—combining shelter, safety, empowerment and advocacy into a continuum of care. Their work not only supports survivors in crisis but also strengthens the broader justice system by helping survivors navigate recovery with dignity, stability and long-term support,” said Sheriff Mark Garber.
Faith House of Acadiana has long served survivors of domestic violence in the region; The new arrangement strengthens the organization’s capacity to serve while reinforcing a coordinated, survivor-centered response to domestic violence.
“We sincerely thank the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office for their leadership and partnership. Their support in allowing us to use one of their facilities to deliver services underscores a shared mission to enhance safety, trust, and access to resources for our community. This collaboration is a powerful example of how agencies can work together to create meaningful impact,” said Faith House Executive Director Billi Lacombe.
Together, LPSO and Faith House of Acadiana affirm their commitment to public safety, survivor empowerment and a community-wide approach to preventing domestic violence.
