Lafayette, LA (January 12, 2026) – Lafayette Parish School System Superintendent Francis Touchet, Jr. has been selected as one of only 30 superintendents nationwide to receive the 2025–26 Superintendent to Watch recognition from the National School Public Relations Association.

Each year, NSPRA honors superintendents with fewer than five years of experience in the role who demonstrate dynamic leadership and a strong commitment to effective, strategic communication. Honorees are recognized for using clear, innovative communication practices to engage stakeholders, strengthen trust, and support student success.

Superintendent Touchet joins an elite national cohort of district leaders recognized for placing communication at the center of organizational leadership and community engagement.

“This recognition reflects the collective work of our entire LPSS team,” said Touchet. “Strong communication is essential to building trust, supporting our schools, and keeping students at the center of every decision. I am grateful for this honor and proud of the work happening across Lafayette Parish.”

Under Touchet’s leadership, LPSS has prioritized transparency, two way communication, and meaningful engagement with families, employees, and community partners. His selection highlights the district’s continued focus on connecting with stakeholders while advancing student growth, opportunity, culture, and safety.
