Update
Lafayette, LA – The fatal crash that occurred this morning is a result of the vehicle traveling eastbound on E. Pinhook Road near the 1800 block. The operator of the vehicle was traveling at an undetermined rate of speed and struck the cement curb located in front of 1800 E. Pinhook Road and began to travel off the roadway. The vehicle continued through several yards before coming to rest after striking a tree. The operator of the vehicle died as a result of his injuries sustained from the accident. He has been identified as Jmarius Charles (30) of Lafayette, LA. Traffic investigators are handling the crash and the investigation is ongoing.

Major Vehicle Crash in the 1800 Block of E. Pinhook Road
Lafayette, LA – Lafayette Police Traffic Investigators are currently on the scene in the 1800 block of E. Pinhook Road regarding a major traffic crash involving a single vehicle. The crash occurred around 2:45 a.m. There is one confirmed fatality at this time. If possible please avoid the area due to lanes being closed.
