Lafayette Police Arrest Parents in Reference to Juvenile Cruelty

Lafayette, LA – On March 09, 2023, the Lafayette Police Department was contacted by a local hospital in reference to a 5-year-old male victim suffering from second degree burns on his hand as well as bruising to his face and upper body. Lafayette Police responded to the hospital, and upon further investigation, it was determined that these injuries were the result of negligible actions of the child’s parents. On this same date, Lafayette Police Juvenile Investigators secured an arrest warrant for the father of the juvenile victim, identified as Preston King, 34, of Lafayette.

On March 17, 2023, Lafayette Police Juvenile Investigators secured an additional arrest warrant for the mother of the juvenile victim, identified as Alexandra King, 33, also of Lafayette. Both individuals were booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center for 1 count each of Second Degree Cruelty to Juveniles.
