Lafayette, LA – The Austria Road Bridge south of Duson crossing Bayou Queue de Tortue between B Robin Road and Landry Road is in disrepair and is closing indefinitely. Signs indicating no crossing allowed were placed at the wooden bridge this afternoon.
Located on a gravel road in an area not heavily traveled, the bridge will be removed on Friday, May 26. A new bridge is in the design stage, but construction is pending funding.
