The Coulee Fortune Drainage Project in Broussard, Louisiana “is making considerable progress”, according to Broussard Mayor Ray Bourque in a Facebook post last week.

In regards to the drainage project, Bourque stated, “This project will provide significant drainage improvements to a large portion of our city”. Bourque added, “As you can see from this video, our Public Works Department has done an outstanding job clearing debris along the coulee in preparation of cleaning it out.”

“The multi-million, multi-year project will impact about 1,110 homes and 200 businesses in the coulee’s 2,470-acre drainage area. Work is set to begin in September along the coulee, which is also known as Cypress Bayou.”, according to an article about the project in the Acadiana Advocate on August 30, 2022.
