Lafayette, LA – Regarding the shooting that occurred on October 8, 2023 in the 2400 block of W. Congress Street.  Lafayette Police Department along with the US Marshall’s Violent Offenders Task Force have arrested the suspect responsible for the shooting, Ladavion Gallegos (B/M/19) of Jennings, LA. The suspect was arrested and booked into Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on an arrest warrant for four counts of attempted second degree murder and one count of simple burglary.

Police on the Scene of Shooting in the 2400 block of W. Congress Street

LAFAYETTE, LA – At around 2:18 a.m., Lafayette Police (LPD) responded to a shooting in the 2500 block of West Congress Street.  An unknown suspect shot the 20-year-old male victim.  The suspect produced a weapon and discharged it, striking the victim.  The victim was transported to an area hospital and is listed in critical condition. 

Lafayette Police is urging anyone with any information to contact LPD or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
