Released by Youngsville Mayor Ken Ritter – November 7, 2023

Youngsville Mayor Ken Ritter is pleased to announce that Youngville’s Veterans Memorial Park at 2514 East Milton Avenue will open Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11, 2023, with a flag raising at 7 a.m. by the Broussard-Larriviere-Trahan VFW Post 9210 Youngsville, LA followed by Acadiana Veteran Alliance’s Ruck & Run for Heroes 10k which will start following the flag raising.

Limited parking will be available next door at Route 92 on the event morning. The public is also encouraged to cheer on the Ruck & Run participants along the route.

“Initially intended to improve drainage & increase stormwater storage along the Anslem Coulee through a land donation, this site has been finished with ancillary accents to honor our Nation’s Heroes! I’m proud of the joint use and am excited to dedicate the site to our Veterans on Veterans Day!” – Mayor Ken Ritter

The Veterans Memorial Park will be open daily during daylight hours as a walking track, a passive recreational area, and a place to honor those who served our country.

Honor someone who served by purchasing a commemorative brick benefiting the AVA and VFW9210 at www.youngsvillelegacy.com
