BROUSSARD, La. (Jan. 12, 2024) – Beginning Monday, January 15, 2024, the Broussard area will experience below-normal temperatures in the teens and lower 20’s, with single-digit wind chills possible through Wednesday, January 17, 2024.
Sub-freezing temperatures can be expected anywhere from twelve to fourteen hours each night on Monday, January 15, 2024, and Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
According to the US National Weather Service in Lake Charles, Louisiana, there is a 28% chance of freezing rain occurring from January 15 – 17, 2024. This can be a potential danger to any exposed pipes, including those that run along the outside walls of homes. Freezing rain can also trigger power outages and create hazardous road conditions. The probability of this weather event can change, so it’s important to stay updated with the latest forecasts.
