WASHINGTON (Feb. 14, 2024) – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) has been named as an Impeachment Manager and will have an active role should the Senate conduct an impeachment trial for Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Congressman Higgins is the Chairman of the Border Security Subcommittee on the House Homeland Security Committee. Following a year-long investigation, the Homeland Security Committee found that Secretary Mayorkas willfully and systemically refused to comply with federal immigration laws and acted in a manner subversive to the rule of law. Congressman Higgins helped lead the official impeachment proceedings in Committee and had many interactions with Secretary Mayorkas.
