UPDATE
LAFAYETTE, LA (Mar. 22, 2024 4:20 p.m.) – Regarding the homicide that occurred on March 16, 2024, in the 600 block of Patterson Street, Lafayette Police Department Special Investigations Unit and LPD K-9, along with the US Marshall’s Violent Offenders Task Force have arrested the suspect responsible for the shooting, Tyrone Ned, a twenty-eight-year-old black male of Lafayette, Louisiana. The suspect was arrested and booked into Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on a warrant for one count of second-degree murder.
LAFAYETTE, LA (Mar. 16, 2024 8:36 a.m.) – On March 16, 2024, at 12:55 a.m., the Lafayette Police Department (LPD) responded to the 600 block of Patterson Street in Lafayette, Louisiana, in reference to a shooting incident in progress. Upon arrival, LPD Officers located one male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his person. LPD Officer then proceeded to render life-saving measures to the victim until Acadian Ambulance arrived on the scene. The victim was then transported to a local hospital by Acadian Ambulance. While receiving medical treatment at the local hospital, the victim was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries sustained during the shooting incident. A crime scene was established and LPD Investigators were called out.
The victim has been identified as one Ian Bouton, twenty-nine, of Lafayette, Louisiana.
LPD Investigators have been working diligently throughout the night to determine leads that may result in identifying and arresting a suspect. This incident remains under investigation, thus additional details shall be released as they are determined.
