Submitted by United States Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana
WASHINGTON (Mar. 22, 2024) – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced he secured $1,268,523,000.00 for Louisiana in the annual appropriations bills for fiscal year 2024—the most of any member in the Louisiana Congressional Delegation. Cassidy voted against a partial government shutdown. Throughout all 12 appropriations bills, there is $28 million for the Morganza to the Gulf Project, more than $12 million for water infrastructure, $5.5 million for mental health and substance abuse services, and $6 million for the Team Gleason Foundation for ALS health services.
“No matter where you live in Louisiana, these investments will make a difference in our communities,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding boosts our economy and strengthens our communities by improving roads and bridges, upgrading our electric grid, supporting our military, and more.”
