Early in my career, when everything seemed to be falling apart around me, I would look for people or things to blame. I would get very critical of those I loved the most. I looked to happenings to justify my failures.

Then I realized there was no one or nothing to blame. I couldn’t blame race, my relationship, my finances, or anything external. Everything that I needed to point the finger toward was internal. This was the moment when my life shifted paths.

The more I invested in myself, the more I discovered the person God created. The more books I read, the more time I spent with myself. The marketplace would reward me with opportunities. The more momentum I got, the more clarity I got. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it.

You’re going to fail. Things will happen. You’ll lose sleep and comfort. It’s life, and life happens to us all. However, we are all one decision away from a life-changing decision.
