I’ve turned up the intensity of my workouts in preparation for a rim-to-rim Grand Canyon hike in June, which flared up an ankle injury and prevented me from running. Shifting my workouts without running has been different, but it hasn’t kept me from working out.
Things will happen, and happenings happen to us all. It’s what we do when those challenges show up that makes the difference. Those challenges may be inconvenient, and they always come at the wrong time, but it’s necessary that we don’t allow them to make us quit.
Discipline compels me to do and not to sit. Discipline compels me to do things I don’t want to when I don’t want to. Discipline compels me to do the things that I don’t like, as if I love it.
Our decisions during small challenges are magnified when facing larger challenges. It all counts. Give it your all when no one else is watching. Give it your no matter the cost. Just don’t quit.
