for City Councilman Kenneth P. Boudreaux

LAFAYETTE, LA (May 10, 2024) – In conjunction with the National Association of University Women (NAUW) Lafayette Branch, Lafayette City Council Vice Chairman Kenneth P. Boudreaux from District 5, announces the Mental Health Awareness Forum, to be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, in the Council Auditorium at Lafayette City-Parish Hall, located at 705 West University Avenue in Lafayette, Louisiana.

With the month of May recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month, this event will feature a panel discussion and information booths to aid in identifying mental health resources while providing an opportunity to strengthen community networking for improved mental health outcomes. The event’s goal is not only to bring awareness to the critical issue of mental health but also to provoke a level of attentiveness to mental health that has been absent from prior campaigns for calls to action and to encourage intentionally active engagement in these endeavors.

Members of NAUW and local mental health professionals and providers will also be on hand to receive a proclamation declaring May as Mental Health Awareness Month in Lafayette. Councilman Boudreaux strongly encourages citizen participation and engagement in this free event and invites the public to attend.
