LAFAYETTE, LA (May 18, 2024) – Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) has restored 100 percent of the 4,500 outages from the severe storm that hit around 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024.

LUS would like to recognize the City of Abbeville, City of Houma, City of Plaquemine, City of Rayne, City of St. Martinville, Town of Welsh, and City of Winnfield for their assistance in restoring power to areas affected by the storm. LUS appreciates the patience our customers and members of the general public showed as we worked to restore all outages.
