UPDATE
LAFAYETTE, LA (May 20, 2024) – The bridge replacement on Rue Des Etoiles has been completed, and the roadway is now open to traffic. The 3-span timber bridge was replaced with a 3-span concrete bridge including piles, guardrails, and asphalt widening.

LAFAYETTE, LA (Oct. 6, 2023) – The Rue Des Etoiles Bridge will close beginning Monday, October 9, 2023, for crews to begin operations for a full bridge replacement. The closure is expected to take approximately nine months.
Crews will be replacing the three-span timber bridge, built in 1970 with a three-span concrete bridge to include concrete piles, guardrails, and asphalt widening. The channel will also be lined with revetment to protect the bridge and the channel slopes.
