SECOND ARREST MADE
LAFAYETTE, LA (May 30, 2024, 12:41 p.m.) – A second arrest was made in reference to the homicide that occurred on 05/21/2024 in the 400 block of Macklyn Street. On 05/29/2024 Tr’Marion Anthony Thomas, 17 of Lafayette, LA, was arrested in connection with this incident. Mr. Thomas was arrested and booked into Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on a warrant for 3 counts of attempted first degree murder and one count of principal to second degree murder.
ARREST MADE
LAFAYETTE, LA (May 22, 2024, 8:09 p.m.) – In regards to the homicide that occurred yesterday in the 400 block of Macklyn Street, a suspect in the case has been arrested. Today, detectives were able to identify and arrest the shooter responsible for the homicide. Leonce Boutte IV, a black male, 27, of Lafayette, Louisiana, has been arrested on warrants for the following: three counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of second-degree murder. Mr. Boutte was arrested on his warrants and booked into Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
On the morning of the incident, Boutte had engaged in a separate incident with other victims in the area of Macklyn Street that resulted in him discharging a firearm. As a result of Boutte discharging his firearm one of the rounds struck the victim, Stannford Mouton, while he was inside of his residence.

LAFAYETTE, LA (May 21, 2024, 9:00 a.m.) – The victim of the early morning homicide has been identified as Stannford David Mouton, 70, of Lafayette. Investigators with the Lafayette Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division are actively and aggressively working leads, and more information will be provided when available.

LAFAYETTE, LA (May 21, 2024) – On May 21, 2024 at 4:31 a.m., The Lafayette Police Department (LPD) responded to the 400 block of Macklyn Street about a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his person. LPD Officers arrived on the scene and were able to determine that the male victim was deceased. A crime scene was established, and Investigators were called out. The incident remains under investigation, as LPD Investigators are working diligently to determine investigative leads.
The male victim’s information shall be provided once the proper protocol has been followed regarding next of kin notification.
