YOUNGSVILLE, LA (Jun. 4, 2024) – From June 5 to 6, 2024, a city contractor will be smoke testing the city’s sewer system in your neighborhood (area designated in pink). This testing is necessary as part of ongoing maintenance to determine entry points of infiltration and inflow from rain events. White smoke will come from open clean-outs, vents and other cracks in the system. The smoke is harmless and is being used as a visual aid to find entry points of rainwater.
