(July 1, 2024) – SLEMCO has announced that the temporary 24-month storm rider for Hurricanes Laura, Delta, and Ida, which has been on your bill since August 2022, will be removed from your SLEMCO bill starting from your July 2024 billing period.

The savings per customer will vary based on how many kilowatt-hour (kWh) you and your family use each month. The cost decrease will be about $1.90 per month for a home that uses 1,500 kWh per month, $3.75 for a home that uses about 3,000 kWh per month, and even more for homes that use more electricity.

SLEMCO states, “While none of us have a crystal ball to predict excessive storm costs in the future, we can absolutely tell you that if we say a new charge to your SLEMCO bill is temporary – we mean just that. It’s temporary. And we will tell you when it starts and even better – when it ends.”
