LAFAYETTE, LA (July 2, 2024) – Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG)’s Public Works Department announces the closure of Canberra Road, approximately 0.40 miles east of Johnston Street, beginning July 8, 2024. This closure is scheduled for approximately eight months, and crews will remove and replace the existing bridge along with the associated roadway, drainage, and water lines.
Detour routes will be available to ensure a smooth traffic flow and local access will be maintained throughout the closure period.
