Submitted by United States Representative Clay Higgins of the 3rd District in Louisiana.

WASHINGTON (July 10, 2024) – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) voted to pass H.R. 8281, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which would require proof of citizenship for voters to register for federal elections while enabling states to remove non-citizens from voter rolls. Congressman Higgins is an original co-sponsor of the legislation.

“Only American citizens should vote in federal elections,” said Congressman Higgins. “Our inaugurated President has put our nation at risk with his open border policies and weak voter registration laws. I oppose his agenda to enable voting by illegal aliens. Every American Patriot should stand up and demand election integrity.”
