LAFAYETTE, LA (July 14, 2024) – “I am deeply disheartened and have been reflecting on the events that transpired yesterday afternoon in Pennsylvania. My prayers are with former President Trump, the families of those who lost their lives, and all who were injured in this tragic event.
We should all be able to gather peacefully, especially when exercising our political freedoms, without the fear of violence occurring.
Now more than ever, it’s crucial that we embrace unity and civility, and reaffirm our American values of democracy. May God bless America.”
