Dreams Come True of Louisiana is a local non-profit in Youngsville, Louisiana, that fulfills the dreams of children ages 3 to 18 with life-threatening illnesses.
Last week, the organization was awarded a $3,200 community grant from the Rotary Club of Youngsville to help fulfill the dreams of the children it serves.
Dreams Come True aims to bring joy, support, and motivation to these exceptional children and their families. The organization stays connected with the children and offers continuous assistance to their families in both good and challenging times.
Throughout the year, Dreams Come True organizes several fundraisers to support its mission of fulfilling the children’s dreams in Louisiana. The organization also hosts an annual private Christmas party for the children it serves.
An upcoming fundraiser is KIDS on the KATWALK, a fashion show, which will be held on August 15, 2024, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Le Pavillon at Parc Lafayette, located at 1913 Kaliste Saloom Road, Lafayette, Louisiana. Children from the Dreams Come True organization will model for local boutiques. Tickets may be purchased online or by check at PO Box 1252, Youngsville, LA 70592.

According to the executive director, Becky Prejean, all funds stay in Louisiana: 80% go to granting dreams, while 20% go to operating costs.
Since 1982, the organization has fulfilled over 2,000 dreams, with thirty approved in 2024. Presently, there are around 20 pending files from the last year or two for children who are waiting for various reasons, i.e., waiting for their port to be removed, the doctor wanting the child to wait before traveling, etc. before their dreams can be realized.
